THIS IS MY FAVORITE SO FAR I CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE TO COME OUT.
Her reviews are really good. There are some numbers at the end of her name, but I can't remember them. Go to youtube.com and search for a review for this game by gamergirl.
Had a believable reason for Nancy to be there. You should play this game. This game was fun.
Most people find it to be really good. She reviews lots of games similar to Nancy Drew as well. I was able to beat the game without solving the last 2 house puzzles in the nursery so I am a little confused about that.
I was wondering if that happened to anyone else.
The good points: once you have successfully entered a new area, thereafter when you go there you don't have to go through all the steps to visit again. I love the fact the games aren't violent and have some humor to them. It didn't take me long to go through the game but I only play when I have the time so probably take longer than most people. The arcade games were reasonably easy but challenging enough to make it necessary to earn those waitress tips for extra coins to play with.I am relatively new to Nancy Drew games so I am finally realizing that although you may have scoped things out once to no avail, after you have accomplished certain feats you might want to revisit certain places to see if something new might be available to you. For example - they could have forgone the pay phone inconvenience by allowing Nancy to get back into her car for her cell phone (the car keys still could be missing). You just go to the edge of the area, click, and you are at the castle or house or whatever.
They test your brains and entertain at the same time. This was one of the better games, I believe, but still has some problems -dark being the main one. Unless you can totally close out sunlight during the day, night time seems to be the best time to play this game. Surely not.As in all the other ND games I've played, I wished there were just a bit more to just investigate.
Even after I copied the answer so I could finish the game, it didn't make sense to me and I wondered if perhaps there wasn't a mistake made. I also cheated on the final puzzle involving some wiring. Same with some other places around the castle, like teasers that never transpired. Great for all ages.
All in all, I liked the characters, plot and ending (in spite of the fact it was certainly not what one would expect from a haunted castle). The puzzles in this game are pretty easy with the exception of one that needed to be solved in order to open a desk in one of the castle rooms. Sometimes I was seemingly led to certain spots only to never have anything happen there. I know that the dark makes things seem more spooky but it sure makes it difficult to see.
There was an area where the crows congregated outside the castle that looked promising but nothing ever came of it. I had the feeling that the creators started with the solution and then worked backward to create the puzzle as it seemed a bit contrived. Also, the usual cooking chore that Nancy has to do isn't timed so you have plenty of time to get things right. I consider myself a pretty good detective but that one stumped me so I had to use the walkthrough.
If you like puzzles, you're going to LOVE this. My daughter (16) and I have enjoyed solving Nancy Drew adventures together for years. Very enjoyable and an excellent value. It's packed with creative puzzles - just when you think you're close to the end, there's a whole 'nother stack of puzzles to solve. We can't wait for new titles to be released. Castle Malloy is our favorite so far.
The location was cool and there was a lot to explore. Once again HerInteractive has created a great Nancy Drew title. This game was fun because of the plethora of puzzles it had. Whether you are adding it to your ND collection or starting out, I recommend it.
All in all, this is another great ND game. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the puzzles can be very challenging, but it is indeed a lot of fun. As a result, the game is accomplished in little time (I have read one day - game time, of course). What happens is that someone disappears.
This one brought back all those fun puzzles you need to solve in order to advance, which was fun because you are never really stuck. The plot is pretty unique, too - it is very different from most ND games, except in The Final Scene. This was slightly less complex than the previous title, Phantom of Venice, and reminiscent of Blackmoor Manor, another previous title, due to it's darkness. They added this new feature where when Nancy goes outside you see her from a birds eye view, which was fun.
Some of them were quite challenging, but not so much that you didn't want to continue. Some games before tried to do away with the classic ND puzzles and weren't as good. If you are stumped with one puzzle, you can always try another, etc.
